About Us

In May 2009, the gates to the first Upzone Adventure Park in Borås were opened. It was with the German entrepreneur Tamara Christmann Olofsson the idea was born. She saw the development of this type of parks on the German market in 2008, and a year later she had everything ready to open her park.

Interest also grew in Sweden. In 2012-2013 Tamara was a consultant to Isaberg Mountain Resort when they wanted to open their own high ropes course. In 2014, it was time to open Upzone’s second park in Ängelholm, which is now our most visited park. In August 2015, we opened the third facility in Ullared. As the industry continued to grow and a franchise concept was developed since we were often asked to open new parks. In July 2016, we opened the first franchise park in Åhus and in May 2018 we opened another franchise park up in Luleå.

Since the start of Upzone Adventure Parks in 2009 until July 2018, we have had a total of 100,000 climbing visitors in our facilities.

We at Upzone, always strive to be at the forefront of the industry. We want you to have as much fun and safe an experience as you visit us. In 2015, we, therefore, became members of the International Adventure Park Association IAPA to keep our knowledge at the top. In 2016 we were also certified as a training academy for IAPA. All our instructors are trained according to IAPA standards, and as IAPA Academy Sweden we offer further training for those who already have experience in the industry. We are also members of the trade association Sweden’s High Altitude Railways. Tamara was the initiator to start this association in 2013 to start a dialogue on high altitude security and to create credibility for the industry.

Although the high ropes courses are the main activity that we run, we also have other products. We work on developing the adventure tourism industry. Also, we have been involved and helped HiveandFive develop a new booking system and partner portal for Adventure activities. We collaborate with other players near our parks to create full-day adventures for you with eg. climbing and canoeing. In 2017, we also began to offer, among other things, Combat Archery Tag as an exciting new activity in Borås, Ängelholm and Ullared. And more new products are in the planning phase – so keep your eyes open!
